Inberg-Miller Engineers Riverton office is currently enrolled in the Accreditation Program of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). As part of this accreditation program, accreditation personnel have performed regularly scheduled inspections of our laboratory. These inspections include the inspection of our laboratory equipment and methods/procedures.
IME has also participated in the proficiency sample program as part of the accreditation process. As part of this program, samples are sent to our laboratory at regular intervals and we perform tests on the samples to monitor our testing accuracy. Finally, we have provided the AASHTO Accreditation Program with a copy of our Laboratory Quality System Manual. This includes our methods for training, education and experience of supervisory personnel and equipment. The AASHTO Accreditation Programs for soil, Portland cement, concrete and asphalt are strictly voluntary programs and are not required in order to provide these services to the public. IME chooses to enroll in this program in order to increase the level of quality of the services we provide to our clients and, at the same time, reduce the level of risk for the technical work product we provide.
Experience
Our field technicians are experienced with the testing of soil density utilizing both nuclear gauges and sand cone methods. Technicians are certified in the field testing of concrete and masonry products such as grout and mortar. They also are proficient in the use of specialized field concrete coring equipment used to obtain concrete cores of existing structures.
IME has performed construction materials testing services for numerous industrial, commercial, and public projects. IME maintains complete soil and materials laboratories at all office locations that are staffed and equipped to provide complete geotechnical and construction materials testing services. State-of-the-art laboratory testing equipment is available to evaluate density and strength of asphaltic concrete, Portland cement concrete, and masonry materials.
Education and Training of Staff
Inberg-Miller Engineers' field and laboratory technicians have participated in, whenever possible, the certification classes offered by the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). These certifications have enabled IME to provide testing services during the construction phase of several WYDOT projects. In addition, Inberg-Miller Engineers' technicians are certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Geotechnical Engineering Technology.
Since WYDOT has implemented Contractor Quality Control, IME has been involved in numerous projects working with contractor and WYDOT project personnel. Our experience includes hot plant bituminous pavement mix design and mix verification, Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) mix design and mix verification, Aggregate quality and gradation testing, etc.
We have also been involved in WYDOT - Wyoming Contractors Association Coop activities including Asphalt and Bridge subcommittees and are current on relevant WYDOT materials specifications as they evolve.
